American Institute for Research is Recruiting Experienced Personnel in Nigeria

Chief of Party – Nigeria
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in education or related field
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively more responsible international and donor-funded development experience
• Familiarity with USAID and other international donors
• Experience in policy and systems development at the state and local government level
• Experience in curriculum, education programming, management, budgeting,administration, teacher training and/or HIV/AIDS prevention education
• Experience in the area of orphans and vulnerable children
• Experience in building the institutional capacity of both public and private sector institutions to ensure sustained provision of services and better use of local, government, and donor resources
• Organizational acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• PhD. or Ed.D Degree preferred
• At least ten years of USAID project management experience preferred
• Previous experience in Nigeria or Hausa-speaking individual preferred.

Senior Education Advisor – Nigeria
The International Development Program (IDP)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in educational policy, management, pedagogy, or related field (PhD or Ed.D preferred), and at least 10 years of experience working with educational systems in developing countries, particularly in the areas of education policy, management, reform, and finance.
• The candidate will need strong leadership, management, and training skills to guide technical assistance work plans, conduct workshops, and build local capacity.
In addition to the above, the following skills are highly desired:
• Demonstrated experience serving in an advisory capacity to ministries of education.
• Experience working for and/or with non-governmental organizations carrying out social and/or education development activities
• Demonstrated exemplary diplomatic, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written English
• Prior working experience in West Africa, especially Nigeria.

Director of Monitoring and Evaluation – Nigeria
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Master's degree in international development, education, demography, statistics or related field; 5 years of equivalent experience in monitoring and evaluation
• Experience with development of indicators and data analysis, with proven record in monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience in systems development and capacity building at the state and local government level
• Experience with PEPFAR indicator monitoring and reporting
• Demonstrated effective and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications and statistical packages such as SPSS, Epi Info, etc.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience in monitoring and evaluating USAID projects
• Previous experience in Nigeria
• Hausa language abilities.
